# How do I update the map?

There are multiple ways for you to update your MapsIndoors map.

* **CMS**: Add, edit, and delete POIs and Areas, and edit existing rooms using the CMS. More information on location editing can be found in the [documentation](https://docs.mapsindoors.com/products/cms/editing-data).
* **Integration API**: Programmatically make almost all changes found in the CMS using the MapsIndoors [Integration API](https://docs.mapsindoors.com/sdks-and-frameworks/integration-api). This requires software development skills and is generally recommended for customers who need to sync data between their own database, Content Management System, or other systems.

**How can I remove or add a wall?** To remove a wall, merge rooms, or make other changes to the floor plan (e.g., add a wall, add a new building, or make changes to the route network), please contact your MapsPeople representative to request a map update.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.mapsindoors.com/help-center/the-map/how-do-i-update-the-map.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
